20,000 jobs and counting

Participants at STRIVE are among the 20,000 New Yorkers who have been placed into jobs through Jobs to Build On

In 2007, the New York City Council selected the Consortium for Worker Education to administer a program, called Jobs to Build On, that would provide job training and placement services across the city, prioritizing communities most in need.

Eleven years later, JtBO trained and placed its 20,000th New Yorker into a career. To this day, it is the only workforce development program in the country created and funded by a legislative body.

This milestone is an achievement not just for CWE and the City Council, but for the network of community-based organizations who serve New York workers through the program. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the success of Jobs to Build On.
