Serving New Yorkers Most in Need

When Dupreme Murphy graduated from high school, he thought he was set. He had returned to school because he wanted to get a decent job and stay out of trouble, but more than six months had gone by and he was still waiting for a job offer.

After three days of security training at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, he was placed into a job. Now, he is making $15 an hour at Summit Security, providing security services around the city.

He says that the BSRC program was set up to help people like him, people most in need of help. Most importantly, the training was free. When you are not making ends meet, you do not have the funds for expensive employment training. He has since recommended the program to several friends, who have also gotten good jobs with the help of BSRC. “Restoration Corporation didn’t only help me get a job. They help me with life, period.”
