Worker Service Centers
Through a city-wide network of community-based organizations, the CWE provides resources for workforce preparation classes, career training and job placement services with a focus on the residents of low-income communities, New Americans, the under-employed and those entering the workforce for the first time. The CWE Worker Service Centers provide instructional services to community-based organizations that conduct workforce training for New York City residents.
These services range from job readiness and computer skills classes through to short-term occupational training and Know Your Rights workshops. Workforce preparation classes are designed to integrate basic skills, job readiness, hands on job training, and job placement services. English as a Second Language, GED and Citizenship prep classes are also available. Many of the trainings that are part of the WSC network lead to certifications and skills attainment that enable participants to seek employment in diverse industries such as healthcare and construction. Training and workforce resources are offered through hybrid models of online and in person training and services.
